Student working on a research project.

The PharmD Program

We are inspired by the number of students that express a sincere interest in applying to the UB School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Selection to the PharmD program is based on scholastic achievement, aptitude, personal qualifications, and evidence of motivation toward pharmacy. In addition to intellectual and academic competence, the School's Admissions Committee considers communication skills, leadership ability, community service, health care-related or research experience, and motivation for pursuing a career in pharmacy. Research experiences specific to the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences are limited to students already accepted into the program. Accepted PharmD students have an opportunity to select the PharmD Research Track which involves pharmacy and pharmaceutical science courses specific to research, as well as a mentored research project. Current students that are accepted into the pharmaceutical sciences program work with the Pharmaceutical Sciences faculty for specific research opportunities, as PHC 498 Undergraduate Research is required for the Pharmaceutical Sciences BS degree. We wish you success in your academic and research pursuits and, based on your interests, would encourage you to look for meaningful research opportunities in closely related fields.
