Synthesis Of Macrocyclic Ligands For Catalysis Applications

This project involves the synthesis of macrocycles using Suzuki cross coupling reactions and the subsequent use of these macrocycles as ligands for various transition metals. The macrocyclic environment is expected to confer special properties to the metal, which will be studied in solid state structure determination, spectroscopic characterization and in catalytic applications such as alkene metathesis.
