Teen Eating Behavior Study

Looking for 1-2 committed Research Assistants for the Nutrition and Health Research Laboratory (Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences, School of Public Health and Health Professions.) Our laboratory studies eating behavior in adults and adolescents.

We are beginning a longitudinal research project looking at the factors related to teen eating behavior and body composition (SNAK: The Study of Nutrition and Activity in Kids.) Duties will include data entry management, food preparation, scheduling and recruitment and working in a team of undergraduate interns and graduate research assistants. With experience, you may be trained to run laboratory studies of adolescents and families.

We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn, with great interpersonal and organizational skills. Applicants should be those that are engaged, who learn quickly, and are able to work independently. Previous research experience is not required, but is a plus.

We have two types of positions:
1.) Laboratory Assistant- Behind the scenes work- including data management, food preparation, and participant recruitment.
2.) Research Assistant- autonomously runs participant visits 1-2 evenings per week or on the weekend.

Each position requires a commitment of at least 2 semesters. The Laboratory Assistant position is flexible requiring 3-10 hours per week. The Research Assistant position requires 10-15 hours per week during the school year, during the hours of 1pm-8pm, Monday-Saturday. You must be able to work at least one week night from 1pm-8pm.
