A Greener Scene: Transforming A Scenic Paint Shop

As we move forward in a global world of continuing limited natural resources and an overabundance of harmful chemicals in our environment, how does this affect our current scenic world? What are the steps to move a scenic paint shop toward being more eco-efficient and eco-effective? What are the industry safety standards currently in practice for “green” painting? Are there new innovations in scenic technology that can move a paint shop toward being more sustainable?
Research would result in proposing new scenic painting techniques, principles, and safety practices to current Theatre & Dance paint shop. Students work with faculty Paint Charge to implement findings. Consultation with industry professionals is encouraged.
