My undergraduate research experience and receipt of a CURCA award has done amazing things for me. It helped me to land a teaching assistant position during my Master’s studies at SUNY Buffalo. The experience also lent assistance towards receiving a two-year Air Force Research Laboratory Fellowship, concurrent with the TA-ship that SUNY Buffalo offered.
The research I conducted under the CURCA award led to even greater things. I am now a research assistant at Georgia Tech, pursuing a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering under a President's Fellowship.
I am still very grateful to have received the award, and I encourage anyone who wishes to experience research to apply.
