Beljan, of Eden, New York, evaluated remediation alternatives to improve the water quality of Onondaga Lake, ultimately helping to develop a method to aerate the lake that would improve the water and ecosystem.

The UB Talker is an augmentative and alternative communications device for the speech impaired. Research into the device is ongoing. The solutions developed by students are deployed to help people who cannot speak to communicate.
