We are seeking several student volunteers to assist in obtaining informed consent and coordinating collection of urine samples from healthy infants to determine the urinary sodium:creatinine ratio. This project is a preliminary study to help determine a normal range so that we may then study infants with cystic fibrosis who are at risk for sodium depletion. Students will be asked to take an on-line course in the basics of human subjects research (i.e. this is both a learning and a service opportunity). Research will be conducted in private practice offices in Amherst. It would be best if volunteers had access to a car.
Date Open: Dec 3, 2007 to Mar 7, 2012
Suggested Skill Set: Students will learn the basics of human subjects research. We only require enthusiasm and good organizational skills.
